Ed Fidoe
Founder & CEO - The London Interdisciplinary School (LIS)
Ed Fidoe is the founder and CEO of the London Interdisciplinary School. LIS is the first institution since the 1960s to be granted degree-awarding powers from inception in the UK, and offers a radically interdisciplinary curriculum centred around complex problems (e.g. inequality, sustainability, ethics & AI).
Prior to LIS, Ed co-founded School 21, an innovative 4-18 school in Stratford designed for children from all starting points and backgrounds. School 21 achieved Outstanding Ofsted just two years after opening. In parallel, Ed co-founded Voice 21, the UK’s oracy education charity. In a previous life, Ed played Eric in hit children TV show Woof! After branching out of acting, he ventured into theatre production with Oscar-nominee Matt Charman; then to strategy consulting at McKinsey & Co, before dedicating his career to the future of education.
Ed holds degrees from Imperial and LSE, and has advised institutions including Cambridge, Teach First and Eton.
