EJ is HSBC’s Group Head of Generative AI Capabilities. He is responsible for leading the global, multidisciplinary teams (Business, Technology, Data, Architecture) developing and commercializing cutting-edge, responsible, ethical, and scalable AI capabilities and products used by HSBC’s Global Businesses & Functions.

In addition to building world-class capabilities, EJ’s team supports AI literacy and workforce transformation delivered via HSBC’s AI Academy and AI Ambassador Program. These programs enable HSBC’s global workforce to better prepare for, build, and use AI products ethically and effectively.

Previously, EJ was the Global Head of Wholesale Digital Architecture directing a wide range of strategic initiatives across Agile/Value Stream Transformation, Business Architecture, program remediation, and technology deployment.

Prior to joining HSBC, EJ spent 15 years at Bank of America where, in his last role, he led its Retail Banking digital platforms (innovation, mobile, desktop partnerships, and digital design). An avid lover of the outdoors, EJ lives in London with his wife, four children, and two German Shepherds.
