Karen McLuskie

Karen McLuskie has been a pioneer at the intersection of technology, government and foreign policy for 20 years. She was at the frontier of what became known as digital diplomacy and was the first diplomat with a critical tech portfolio. She served in four continents before taking up the role of senior advisor at FCDO in the run up to the landmark AI Safety Summit at Bletchley. Today she leads on critical technology and industrial strategy for the Department of Business and Trade. She also chairs the Industry Advisory Board for UK Responsible AI, and speaks and writes widely on the implications of AI for society. She is the co-founder of not-for-profit startup 'Me3', which offers tech solutions for tackling sexual violence.
